I know this subject was beat to death a while back but I can't seem to find the old thread. Does anyone have the length (u-joint center to ujoint center) for a v8 driveshaft using a t5 with the MII bellhousing?

I think most people when doing the T5 swap shorten their driveshaft an inch.

When I measured from the end of my transmission to the differential where the driveshaft attaches, I got around 47 5/8". Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I'm wondering if I can use a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft on my Ghia. It has a center to center of 43.5 inches From what I can find, the stock v8 4spd shaft was 45.64, which if you shorten 1" for the t5 would make 44.64, meaning that the Ford Racing shaft would be just over an inch shorter.

There are 2 FRPP aluminum driveshafts one (397-M-4602-G) is for 79-95 Mustang 5.0L with T5, SROD, C4 or AOD transmission and 7.5'' or 8.8'' rear end it's 45.5" center to center. The other (397-M-4602-J) is for 96-00 Mustang and 96-98 Cobra 4.6L with Manual Transmission not sure of the length on it though.
