fixing to order a alum. DS for my 05, been looking at the shaftmaster. looks nice and nicely priced (for a DS). one says with pinion flange, the other says direct bolt on. im guessing the difference is no pinion adjustment. am i right?

Some Aluminum DS have an adapter so you don't have to change the pinion flange, oters are made to fit without an adapter but you simply change the pinion flange.

I didn't like the adapter idea so mine is a Spydershaft which required a flange change.

People that like the adaptor usually do it theirself in the driveway to save money, but some believe it is a bad idea due to the strength and another possible spot for vibration. Axle Exchange is the only alumin shaft I haven't heard people complain about.
