    Ah.. :bang:

I really feel for you guys who have had to change el cheapo starters (35 dollar specials) 4 or 5 times. My yellow car needs a new starter and I would like to know what the easiest way to remove it is.

    Thanks

Long extension for the starter bolts, Loosen and slide back the steering rack bolts, drop the rack off the front of the crossmember (it JUST clears). Starter should come right out thru the hole.

Good to see you back. Wha's been up?

    personally
I like to drop the motor mount and pull the starter straight out,
My dad used to be able to have it swapped out in a half hour, at the time we had a few extra starters laying around

I agree with Cobraman...pull down the rack and get an extention for your ratchet...piece of cake. Use a small telescoping magnet or magnetise the socket for easy reassembly.

I've done that crappy job so many times it's easy now. Next time I'm putting in a PMGR.
