El Stango Idling Too Low

It's about a 100 to 200 rpm lower at idle than it used to be. What adjustments would I have to do to raise the idle again? Its a 289 4 barrel. Thanks for any help.

there should be a screw near the linkage that when turned clockwise it will open the butterflies more which will raise the idle.

on a stock engine???650-750 rpm???? Mines at 1000

definately depends on your cam. my car needs to run at about 900 and even then it likes to stall when warm or cold when stopping at a stop sign. i just love the way the cam sounds at about 900 rpm's when idling. but yes around 650 to 750 when fully warmed up with an auto. make sure your car is completely warm and the choke is disengaged before you try and set the idle, otherwise you will be way off with the fast idle choke running. that can also be set, but by another carb specific way

yeah, i have a pretty big cam and have to idle around 1000, if i drop it to like 800 or 900, it sounds GREAT but tends to want to stall..but i love the low idle sound on a big cam mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

For an auto dont forget the RPM's drop[ a bit when put in drive, so if possible tune it with some body holding the brake..OR tune then jump in and put it in drive

I have a T5 and am pretty sure a stock cam (or at least a mild one). My idle was around 900 and that seemed to be fine. Thanks.
