I went down to the parts counter at the ford dealership on my lunch today and tried to pick up a PCV valve. The guy told me that the part is $46 because the 2004 mustangs use an electronic PCV valve. I was expecting something around $9-$15 for the part.

Can someone confirm the part number he gave me (EV-261) is correct and tell me if the price sounds right?

Yes, I have heard of that type of PCV valve before and yes it is very expensive. Sucks that your car has that type. Make sure yours is actually in need of replacement before you shell out that kind of coin.

the newer ones use a Pre-heated PCV, for some reason FoMoCo thinks the PCV valve can stick/freeze in colder climates. this has been a problem way back to the mid 90's Escorts, I have never seen this happen but I don't live near the Arctic circle. you should be able to supstitute a non heated one in its place, unless you live near the arctic?
