Hey guys, I did a search and didnt come up with what I really wanted to know. I do know a few of you have done the back up light removal and replaced it with an emergency cut off which kills all power to the car. I have seen the switches in jegs and I really want to do this. My battery is mounted in the trunk but I am not sure how these cut off switches work exactly? How are they wired and what needs to be done for this to happen? Thanks guys.

It goes inline with the positive battery cable. It disconnects the battery with a switch.

You need to find a way to switch off the alternator so the car doesn't continue to run on after you toss the switch for certain sanctioning bodies.

Ok, thanks for the quick response...as far as the sanctioning bodies, I dont race the car a lot and I dont even have to have one when at the track, so it will be used mostly as a theft deterent/safety precaution switch

mounted mine in the cockpit.
if you can see it in the pic, its the blue black thing on the right

They do have to be wired correctly to actually shut the motor.
the newer models of these switches have a third connection that goes to the alternator.

I believe they're made by:
