Ok so I have a stock '93 notch (bonus pic attached) and I am planning its future, instead of doing all the usual stuff to the stock block I want to start fresh with a stroker.
My question is would a 351 stroked to a 427 be too much for street/strip?

My last notch was a stock 302 bottom with e303 and edelbrock top end with an 11lb ATI D1....
How would the 427 compare to that?
Thanks

The 427 inch displacement itself isn't that much more potent than the 408. It's pretty much just saying you have a 427 under the hood and people get excited. Plus I'm pretty sure getting that block to 427 cubes is a little detrimental to its durability.

I built a 351 to a 383 because long 6.2" rods make for a good revving car. Kind of like why people build 331's over a 347. But like the previous poster said, after 408 the block strength comes into question. Unless you buy a nice 351 block from World.

...And then you see a stock block 347 rev to 7K and the guy who built his 331 to only rev to 6500 goes and hides in the corner, haha.
