exaust questions

i have a 2002 gt and i want to beef up the exaust, i was thinkin bout an h-pipe with flowmaster series 40 mufflers, but, i was also thinkin bout just getting flowmaster series 10 mufflers and keeping the stock h-pipe. i am also would like to know u guys oppions on h-pipe verse x-pipe. I am a noob to this so any help you could give me would be appreciated, thanks
