F Cam vs. B Cam

A guy I know blew the engine on his LX. He's parting out his aftermarket parts and his mods are, or should I say were:

MAC CAI
C&L 76MAF w/tube
Accufab 75mm TB + EGR
Trickflow Street Heat intake
24lbs FMS injectors
AFPR
255lph fuel pump
F cam
FMS Shortie headers
H pipe
MAC Flowpath mufflers
4.10 Gears

I am picking up the 24#'s with his sample tube tomorrow. The only other things I see I would want is the fuel pump, and the cam which brings me to my question: Should I go the the trouble of swapping out cams.That is if his cam isn't destroyed would I gain any power over the B cam I have now.
B cam: 224/224 .510/.510 w/1.7's 112 LSA
F cam: 226/226 .544/.544 w/1.7's 114 LSA

It's the lift that bothers me. I have Thumper heads with the double springs, maby they can handle the lift but what I worry about is piston to valve clearance. Maby I should just trade out my 1.7's for some 1.6's with someone.
