Falcons with quadrant/cable setup?

I have a 66 and I have come to the conclusion that I am going to have to cut the cowl section out and make a new one.

The 4 bolts for the pedal assembly sit roughly 3/4 of an inch below the pinch weld and for whatever reason, Ford gave the wiper motor a TON of room.

I got rid of the wiper motor/arms/blades awhile back, its a fake race car and doesn't get driven in the rain, but I wanted to see if anyone had done anything else.

I could do a hydraulic setup . . . who makes an affordable kit though?

Z-bar is out of the question.

I think I might just end up cutting it because for one: I can look back and know that I did it and two: its much cheaper to cut and weld.

I'll be sure to bring a camera . . . :D

So, has anyone done this? How did it turn out? Regrets?

thanks in advance!

Im not sure how close the 65 firewall/pedal sled is to the 66, but on my 65 falcon I used a cable conversion from Modern Driveline. It uses the stock pedal, just adds a bracket to the top of it and the cable comes out over top the master cylinder. You may want to post this over on TFFN.net, if you havent already.
