I just picked this up 7 days ago. Stock 1999 Mustang GT with 106k miles for $5000. Its in awesome shape besides some acceptable body wear from being a 10 year old car. It drives awesome and sounds great. So here are some pics:

I've got a Mach 1 chin spoiler coming in tomorrow. Whenever I get around to installing it sometime later this week I plan on moving the spoiler back or perhaps removing it, depending on how less faded the paint under the spoiler is. I'm pretty much broke right now but once the semester ends and I can start working working as much as I do when i'm not dealing with college I'll be able to throw some more mods at it. Next up I'll be getting a Steeda short-throw shifter with a new knob and grille delete and then when I get enough cash, get rid of the stock suspension. Its good to be back in the mustang community (had a '66 through highschool) and I look forward to dumping money into a car I love again. Once I get the chin spoiler on I'll take some more pics and post em.

I'd say you got a good deal... :nice:

Enjoy the car. With love you can keep it at that value or increase it... :)

awesome color. can i ask you how the front bumper is holding up to road rash? i have the same exact color and the front bumper is in pretty bad shape.

i wish i had a black interior. i got tan in mine :(

The front bumper on mine is fine. The most damage on the car is on the side of the rear bumper where the previous owner scraped something but its touched up. That and it looks like someone keyed it in 2 spots, but they're hard to notice. Eventually I'll fix that stuff but its kind of last on my list since its not very noticeable.

    jlds91389:
I've thought about smoked headlights, but again with such a tight budget, thats more towards the end of my list since the headlights are real clean as is.

Thanks for all the comments. I've got a question, does anyone know where I could get a GT hoodscoop for a good price? Most of them are around $200 unpainted and that seems like a huge ripoff. Theres a few on eBay for less than $70 from "carparts wholesale" which seems like a super cheap-o company so I'm skeptical about it. I just can't stand the stock 99 hood. I've looked into the shaker hood conversion from CDC but I would have to wait a good while before doing that since it nears $800 for the kit. So as for short throw shifter, mach 1 grille delete, and lowering the car (looking at H&R supersports, Maximum Motorsports C/C Plates, and probably mid range shocks), what else would y'all suggest for initial modifications?

Sharp looking...and I still love those 5 spoke rims...some of the best rims Ford produced IMHO.

If you have a bunch of nicks on your front bumper, or scratches you need to fill in, here is what I have done in the past. I clean the front bumper really well, making sure to scrub it by hand with bug and tar remover. This helps you identify what are actually nicks, and what just looked like them but was dirt, bugs, tar, etc. I buy a good touch up paint, and carefully touch up all the spots. Let them fully dry. Then wetsand the front bumper. Then buff it with a professional buffer, or by hand. I typically will use Mequires or 3M. I will typically use a 3m liquid rubbing compound followed by the middle grade Mequires #2 buffing liquid, then the final buff with the Mequires #1 (addes the supershine to it). Then wax. This will hide the nicks and keep them from chipping off again, like when you just use touch up and nothing else. Its a great way to make it look super nice without having to repaint for a couple of years.

What does the "wetsand" process look like? What grit..etc.

Not to hijack, but I have the worst luck with touch-up painting. In the end, it looks like I'm covering up a big zit with makeup. Is there a writeup (with pics) somewhere for those of us with front end stone and bug damage? The leading edge of my hood has been getting peppered....grrrr...

Congrats man. Nice looking car. Your headlights look very clean. Mine has some haze on them and look like crap. My car is 3yrs younger than yours. Pearl02.
