Ok, so I bought an Aluminum Drive shaft off an AWD Aerostar. Its a '96. I read this post: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/743202-awd-aerostar-aluminum-driveshaft.html
So what I want to know is what isn't mentioned in this post.

    1. Will the rear flange bolt right up to the rear-end? Or should I reuse the one on the old D/S?
    2. What U-Joints should I use? Aerostar U-Joints or Mustang U-Joints?
    3. The yoke (that goes in to the tranny) has 27 splines, Do I need to use the old one or is this one fine?

    Thanks.

Once again Aluminum Drive Shaft off a 1996 AWD Aerostar.

I did the exact same thing, and i'm trying to remember. But i'm 99% sure the yoke into the trans (if a T-5) is the same. the rear u joint needs changed and you need to use the old flang off the stock mustang drive shaft.Take the u joint to napa and tell them this is what your doing. The new u joint one side is wider then the other so you can adapt the 2 together. Here ya go this should sum it all up!

    driveshaft

I just did this a week ago. I used a 96 aerostar drive shaft and my mustang front and rear yokes along with 2 u-joints from napa # 353 . I couldnt use the aeorstar front yoke because it had a balancer of some sort pressed on to it and on the rear the flange was diffrent spacing. Using the 353 u-joints and your mustang yokes should work fine

I actually quoted that link in my original post, it says that the '96 AWD D/S will bolt right in.

Or did I miss something in there?
