I think it shouldn't be a problem for them to make it all 1000 laps. At 31 MPG and a 16 gallon tank that's 496 miles. But I'm sure they can top off the tank, have an optional 2:91 gear ratio in the car, set the cruise control at the optimal RPM and have some pre-production computer flash that will make the car breeze past the 500 mile mark...
