I have a 1986 GT. After not having been run for a while, the fuel pump does not shut-off when priming - it keeps running. Car won't start. Haven't checked actual pressure value yet but a nice stream from Schraeder valve. My questions: What causes the pump to stop running after priming - pressure switch or electronic timer? Will the injectors not pulse while the pump is running at start-up (in other words, does the fact that the pump continues to run prevent starting, even if the pressure to the rail is good)?
