SN95 Fuel Pump Problem-e85

So I have a 95 gt and I put a stealth 340 intank pump. I'm running e85 and when I tried to start the engine I noticed that I didn't have fuel pressure. So I dropped the tank to inspect the pump and found it burnt up. I have a good ground. Voltage around 12.5. I took the stock fuel pump and put it back in it primed once and then it was burnt to. Any help and be appreciated thank you.

What model 340 did you have? 11540 is the proper e85 pump, previous versions arent quoted for e85 from what I understand,

How old was your aeromotive pump? They have a 1 yr warranty,

There are a couple e85 guys on here so they may have more insight for you,

The pump that I have they don't have anymore. The model number is 11140 and it is not e85 pump but would that cause it to burn up. I mean it melted the housing

I had same pump 11140 melt down in same spot, put in the 111540,
The new pump is acting fine.

I run 93 but we have allot of corn in our gas here,

You either have an e85 pump issue or power issue,

Have you check your resistance on the pump power lines? just a thought...

Well I have not checked that. What should it be?

The 111540 pump should be here tomorrow or Thursday.

@jrichker, do you know the proper voltage and resistance for the fuel pump?

I think he should check that before he hooks up a new pump, since he's fried 2 pumps.

Could it be a possibility that he is airating the pump and running it dry and that's how it's burning up ? Maybe the stock tank vent isn't good and it's building too much pressure causing a vapor lock ?

I had zero issue with the 340 I had in my stock tank and it went into another blower car after mine with no issue.

My tank was empty and I have had the key on tuning it but I never heard the pump turn on. Is the pump that quite?

I have never seen a pump melt like that being dry.

Interesting... What mods are required for the corn? There is a E85 pump 5 miles from my house

@TOOLOW91 thats why Im guessing he has some kind of electrical issue,

While we're here did you check you voltage again after pump 2 died?

Yes it was 12.2 at the pump
