fuel pump stays on

Would the fuel pump stay on if theres no motor and wiring harness unhooked, i hooked up a charger to see if the lights worked when i turn the key on the pump stays on like i said theres no motor in the car .could this be why?

Don't worry about it until you have the engine in the car. At that time, make sure you put the car year in your post. The wiring changed several times between 79 and 93, and the fuel pump wiring is different.

it's a 1991 gt when i did it a relay or somthing on the passenger fender started clicking and so did somthing under the drivers seats.
