During which time I will be planting my foot firming into the arse of just about every person I can find over at Globat while they fix the problem.

I notice 2 months ago a little note in my account that said "set for cancellation at owner request"

I have contacted them over a dozen times since then and always been pushed to their billing department, where all I ever get is a voicemail, and I have never received a call back. So needless to say I am very mad right now.

Can't you register the domain with another host and upload the site?

Godaddy, 1and1, or even your ISP are usually quick and easy. If you current host is that screwed up I would run as fast as you can to somebody else.
