If gas hits $10/gallon (or even $5/gallon), I'm just going to quit my job and get a minimum-wage job at Pizza Hut or something within walking distance from my home. I'll be making about the same amount of money either way, but at least I won't have to spend 2 hours of every freakin' day driving.

He doesn't need gas, he has enough hot air flowing out of his mouth to power a small city.

I don't see how standing around without any pants on is going to help anything but I'm willing to give it a shot!

I'm gonna design a car that runs off of wishful thinking and bad ideas. Then I'll have an endless fuel supply. :nice:

How about just fuel it with pure stupidity? I'd have to buddy up with a stupid guy so I could fuel my car....but most people would just be set for life.

    Not true.

They are doing more exploratory drilling in my area. (Texas)

Ethonal is coming on strong. It looks like at least the short term answer. Long term answer, more efficient cars (and everything else) and the development of new energy technology.

I just don't understand it

Instead of polluting the air with waste products from burning gasoline, we are going to pollute our streams, lakes and ground with fertilizer runoff from all the new corn fields used to produce this "earth friendly" bio-fuel?? (not to mention the use of pesticides.)

I wonder what the actual statistics on this situation are?

It's either that or we start supporting public transportation, and you know we can't do that because that would just be inviting communism.

Fortunately, I know that not all Canadians are like you.

So it's more of a short term response than a short term answer. I think I'll fill up my next tank with E-85 just to see how bad the mileage drops. I'll start a new thread for it when the time comes.

They were just talking with some farmers in this area who are paying more for the corn feed they use for their hogs than they're making selling the fat hogs.....the guy they interviewed said everyone sells their corn to the ethanol people these days so the feed corn cost a small fortune.

Price of pork on its way up apparently now too.

Is our country really stupid enough to think they can "fix" our energy problems by creating food problems.
