gear whine???

How bad is gear whine? Is it just on the high way? How loud is it? Thanks in advance

You shouldnt have gear whine as long as they are installed right. I think when they are not correctly shimmed (sp), they can make a lot of noise. I have 3.73's in mine with no whine. Get a good shop to do them and you should have no problems.

I had it installed already and it was a bad one. So a grove was worn in my gears. He sid it woould whine now but qouldnt cause any further problems. Just want to know how audible it will be

Well, its more likely to be a subtle whine with 4.10's or lower gears, my 4.10's had a very low whine for 10,000, NO problems whatsoever.

With anything less than 4.30's, there should be NO whine. Make sure they're installed (and shimmed) correctly.

If you have aftermarket control arms, there is a chance that the whine will be amplified though.
