Your making some good progress there. Some people will tell you no break in. I just kind of drove my 2000 normal for the first 1000 to break it in. If you went with aftermarket rings I'd see what they recommend in case they suggest anything specific to seat them.

Some will take it right out of the garage and run it to red line. Others won't flog on it for 500, 1k or even 1500 miles. I broke my last motor in for 250-300 miles to make sure b/c it was a flat tappett cam. When I get my 4.6 rebuilt, its go time from the minute it pulls out of the garage.

When i did my PI swap, i did what saleengt did, about 500-600 miles, plus i had put a new clutch in, so i needed to break that in a bit. but the only reason why i broke it in was just to make sure everything was good. good luck man ,your gonna have so much fun, and power difference is incredible once its done.

The anticipation is killer i'll bet

oh yeah, i cant wait........

well we got quite a bit done today, and would have got alot more finished, except the new motor mounts were to thick, and would not let the engine sit in the k-member correctly,(thats what happes when you go to advanced auto, and the parts were made in israel):rlaugh:, so i will be going to ford in the morning to get them
