Someone told me this morning that they read or heard the v6 all wheel drive focus is the second fastest ford car made right now.

Is the v6 the 3 liter or is it the 3.5 liter now?

I like the looks of fusion and haven't heard of anything bad myself. We had considered one but bought an 05 fivehundred awd used. That has been a good car so far, I would like the mileage to be better. Right now it is 23.5 mpg 80% of that interstate driving.

we are getting 26.7 in 90 percent stop and go driving in boston. This is with the 2.3 liter. The 3.0 gets quite a bit less but it's pretty quick. the Lincoln MK Z has the 3.5 and that thing is pretty fast.

you guys wanna see some funny chit about a Subaru service dept in Little Rock?

I am not making this chit up, a guy on our local board took his car in for service. The threads in the oil pan for the drain plug were a little Fubar'd from the last time he took it there. He asked if they could fix it and they said they'd put a helicoil in it.

He called to check on the progress and the tech laughingly told him "Oh, we plugged it up"

    I swear this is real.

On topic, I have zero experience with the Fusion. Hope she enjoys it. :)

    HAHA....finally someone banned pennywise. Anyway....

I'm glad you guys think the fusion will be suitable. I wasn't sure about the 2.3L history, although I did know the 3.0L in the Taurus' was amazing. Hopefully this car will give her no trouble!

BTW- do you think it's too risky to put synthetic oil in a brand new engine? I mean, once it hits 3,000 miles?

Isnt the 3.0 the same as the older 24v 3.0 in the older Taurus's? But with 220hp?

The Five Hundred is now the Taurus...

I'm glad to hear the Fusion is holding up well. I'm probably getting rid of my 2006 V6 F150 to get one. I thought the V6 would get better gas mileage than it does but when I can't even get it close to my 212K mile 4.6 Expedition something is wrong. I get 19 on the highway in the Expy and have to baby the F150 to get 18.

BTW...I think pennywise's avatar should be bigger...but that is just me.

Besides a lot of manual lumbar problems with the drivers seat, I rarely do much work on MKZ, fusions, milans. IMO they are pretty boring looking cars with the turning radius of an F-250, yet they are one of the better cars ford makes, must be the mazda in them.

I wish they made a Fusion wagon (or even better a sedan delivery, like the old Falcon)
