    Ignorant Redneck Out Cruisin'.

I'd stay with Ford, but that's just me. I love the Mustang above any other car, and probably always will. Keep yours. :)

We have a saying down at the shop "when something brakes, upgrade it." You'd be surprised how many maintinance repair parts are available in performance versions. Trouble? F.O.R.D. hasn't gotten all it's little joke code names for nothing, expect this stuff to crap out. On the other hand, my '91 GT is gonna turn over 228,000 miles this week, never rebuilt original engine, and it doesn't know what towtruck looks like. No complaints. I would jump in it and drive cross country without a thought. The key is to get the one you really want, and you don't mind spending the money as much.

ok buy the 85. i have just got one and i love it. it has the origonial paint and it is in good shape. the guy i got it from also gave me another motor, the origonial. which has a rod knock but, isn't a big problem. the car only has 78K on the body. the t-top seals do leak a little bit though. only above the door. those cars also came stock with a y pipe soif you do get it put dual on it. mine came with flowmaster after cat. so i would buy it depending on the condition of the car. i did also buy the car for only 3,000 so i think that i did get a good deal. you also don't see too many of the 86 and older body styles where i am form so it was a goo thing.

Buy a Honda and call it the day. J/K

No, the 5.0 is pretty reliable. Many people get 150K miles or better out of them without problems. They have a bad rap because of people who beat the heck of them a whine when they break. I would sell all your cars, forget the 85 and try to pick up something a little newer in better shape.

Well, although I have a pre 4cyl now 302 EFi 88 mustang, I had an 89 camaro with a 350 tuned port and I had no problems and it whomped on several 5.0's. oh, it was a stroked 350.. 383 so it had some money into it. Since I have had my 5.0 I have had no problems trying to get parts and it seems mustang owners are a little easier to talk to, not all about my car is better than yours, type of deal.. atleast in my experience but i guess that is just the type of person. Go with what you like.....
