Alright guys here is my idea and I might need your help.

My plan is to buy this model...

http://www.gmpdiecast.com/products/...er=G1801828&category=1:18 Scale Ford Mustangs

And turn it into this car...

They sell Prostar wheels and tires at GMP, but they are out of stock. They also sell this...

Which I would take the motor, and the wheels, but again are out of stock. How long does out of stock mean with them? Will they ever start making them again? I want to do it for my dad and don't care about the money side of it. I tried getting ahold of them but the woman is out of office till mid next week.

I'm not in a huge hurry, but kind of want to get started on the mods.

Thanks

Out of stock usually means no longer produced. I know that black coupe is no longer made.

Check ebay, usually discontinued stuff pops up from time to time there.

GMP is on holiday until the 7th...i tried to get in touch with them for other reasons.

I've only paid retail for one of my GMP models.

All the other ones (except the SVO i bought off you) were bought in the 50-60 range and all seemed NIB when i got them.

I think i've bought most of them off "IMgopher" on ebay

I only paid retail for one too, the teal Cobra. Well, my girlie did for part of my Christmas gifts. But I mean when they are newly released you can still get them for the same price even when GMP is sold out.

This is one of the ebay places I use and they have been 100% great to deal with, fast shipping etc.

the first one you where looking at is here for $105 free shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-18-GMP-1989-C...47188QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

they are brand new release ones so they will take awhile to come down in price.

the other model Dark Horse, I just got one myself not to long ago is way out of production but they do show up on ebay(the best place to find oop gmp cars and wheel, etc.) they also have one..

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-18-GMP-1985-B...47188QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

and right now after searching no one is really any cheaper with better feedback.

FYI everybody, gomotorbids.com has auctions all the time for NIB models and they generally end lower than on ebay. I think I got the silver SVO from there but I can't remember.
