Good place to get short block

I have not done a compression test yet, but soon I hope.

Ever since my heads and cam, I have been burning oil. My mechanic buddy and I think it might be piston rings; that and my number 3 and 7 cylinder plugs were ghost white.

My question is, where is a good place to get a solid, some what inexpensive short block? I have E7's with 1.94/1.60 valves. So a 302 or 306 would be alright, right? Or maybe a 331 with the right intake?

Thanks

I've done a little searching and I found a 306 shortblock at DSS for about 1500.
Only problem is they say it's for Twisted Wedge heads, does that really matter?

Their standard Bullet shortblock should be in the same pricerange. You will definitely want some standard pistons with the E7 heads. The TFS pistons that DSS sells have reliefs cut for canted valves, not the inline valves on most other heads.
