So, before I get into the wheel details, let me just explain my day. I went to a place called TFX in Toronto, to pick up my wheels and tires. Upon entering, I see nothing but Beemers, Benzes, and porsche's in the back compound, a dirt compound at that, surrounded by a regular fence....and a few transport trucks. (No, I wasn't at a chop shop) I get inside, and see nothing but cars with tarps, and the owner seems very happy to help me out in getting my new chrome rims. I'm staring at all these very weird shaped cars...nothing domestic about the shapes at all. I ask him if i can take a look around, and he gives me a solid "No". Then he tells me he'll take me for a tour after we're done getting the rims from upstairs. Then, this man, Wally, takes me around the warehouse, to reveal 4 Lotus Elise's 5 Maserati's of different types, all very rare 2 Lamborgini Murcielago's 2 Dodge Viper GTS's, one in FULL race trim (I'm not even at the good parts yet) 2 identical dodge barracuda's, complete with hemi's, and custom paint About 40 other very rare cars, that I can't even remember, some new, some old, some motorcycles, some crazy looking trucks, I think Dodge rams with Super Bee written on them, (they were yellow, anyone know anything about this) and just about everything else we workin folk dream of. THEN!!!! In the very back, just before the bay door, he unveils none other than Eleanor, or one of them, whatever...I sat in Eleanor, that's all that matters, what a beauty car it is..I nearly blew my.... THENNNNNNN!!!! Here's a moment i'll probably never experience again...He takes me out back....getting loaded onto a truck was a Ferrari Enzo in all it's supercar glory. If anyone watched the show "Rides" lately, they had one testing out new wheels on it. Well, this is THAT Enzo, and yes, I sat in that too. Still had plastic on the seats...probably for shipping. Turns out this is Canada's biggest transporter of Exotic Vehicles, look it up on the internet if you'd like to....truly, truly an amazing experience...and no camera to take any shots, because I didn't expect any of it. Okay, to the wheels. They look incredible on the car, much more appealing than stock tribars. I'll probably have pics later on tonight, just have to unload the digital cam at the girlfriend's place. 275's all the way around, and no rubbing at all...is this normal? No modifications needed. The front wheels are completely flush, and look really good. The rear is great too, but I think i'm going to require some spacers to make them stick out a bit more, I don't want the front rims to outshine the rears. Any suggestions at all? Anyway, I'm too excited, I gotta go....sorry for the long post! I'm way too happy!
You're a lucky SOB to see all those cars ! And congrats about the wheels. I miss mine.(17x9 chrome 03's) Although I would of thought that It would rub a little in front when you turn the steering wheel all the way
Yeah, I don't know if i've tried a full turn yet, but i've come pretty close, and no rub....it confuses me too Coming man, coming!!! I just got them put on 2 hours ago, I haven't even had time to wipe them down, but I have a few pics anyway...gimme an hour to get'em up and posted here.
Why is an exotic car shop selling little ford wheels. Just jokin man. Lets see the pics. Whats RC's # we got another set of tribars to be sold.
HURRY UP! Get them pictures up and who cares if they are dirty... Just stand back a good distance and you wont be able to tell Most of my pictures my car looks like azz in real life
I took some real quick pics last night, it was cold and dark, and it wasn't my camera, so they all turned out really blurry. The first pic is blurry but still shows the rims in full. The second pic is the reason I went out this morning and ordered some spacers....doesn't quite look right
here's some more.....and just go ahead and make fun of me for the quality.... I deserve it this time They're just plain horrible pictures, I'll try to get some good ones later today, when the car's clean and it's a bit warmer....
Here's some shots from today, more coming, I'm posting as I'm hosting... And the banner issue, this has been going on for a while....I just don't have the heart to take it off, it was a car club from Nanaimo, BC when I first bought my car, and the decals always set off the car....now I want to clean up the car abit, and I guess since there's something else to set it off now, I can remove them safely thanks for the compliment though, more pics coming very soon
i think the winshield banner looks fine, maybe not the bumper sticker though... awesome story to be blown away like that, too bad no pics but it's all good... ha, you could always go back! btw, car looks awesome!
what lowering springs are on that car..................when i put the saleens on.........waiting till i start driving the car again to bolt them up.......I want to lower it more........mine has the "c" springs from ford on it now.....and it is too high.... when you installed those springs what else did you have to buy. jason
Oh the truth shall come out. Eibach sportlines all the way around, and when I wasn't satisfied with the front drop, (it was an inch higher than what I desired) I went to a local shop and had the front springs heated up a bit, and strapped. It made the ride a little more harsh, but not so much that it's undriveable. You definitely need caster camber plates if you're going to try that though, I have a major inner wear situation going on right now because I didn't. Now I've got the wider wheels up front, and I'm scared to install them because with my camber the way it is, my tires tuck neatly underneath the fender when i hit bumps....it's a dilemma.... So total drop is just over 2 inches in the front, and 1.75 in the rear
