Gt Or Gt 500 Hood

I have a stock 08 V6 Pony and the hood got damaged from getting hit in the fender and was wondering if I would be able to put on a OEM GT or a GT 500 hood on my car?

I have heard some people say yes but it will look a bit odd but it will go on there, and some say no.

I think what they're talking about is the GT-500 hood not lining up correctly with the nose on a GT. Is this an insurance claim or what?
