GT40P Cylinder Heads

would a set of gt40 heads work with my car i have a 79 with a 302 in it just wondering if i would have to get a special intake or anything because my car is carburated

They should work fine. The only difference I am aware of is that the GT40 P heads take a slightly different header than stock or GT40 heads. The intakes should work fine.

Not sure if they have the air passages drilled that connect at the rear, but you may not need them anyway.

I have FRPP GT40 irons on my 79 Capri 5.0, with a Holley 4 v intake, etc, and BBK shorties.
 
The "p" heads are not drilled for emissions, but since you have a '79 it wont make any difference.

I would reccomend getting a set of the Ford Racing "p" head headers. They are mad specifically to fit the "p" head. They will really help with the clearances around the spark plugs and save you alot of aggravation. I have a set on mine and have had no issues with the plugs or plug wires.
