If that is true then why does 98 ford explorer with gt40p only make 215hp, while stock mustang gt makes 225hp. Is it ecu?? timing??

Those motors were setup fpr a nice flat torque curve and not all out horsepower. Guys put them in mustangs with mustang parts and make 260-270 hp tp the wheels
