that's the latest rumor on the release date. other rumors over 600 cars and about 100 tracks. motorcycles may be included ala project gotham racing. create a track feature may be added. PD thinking about going back to the 2 differently priced GT5 games. one with everything, and another with pay per car/track. considering the development time of GT5, i'm betting the cheap version will be $60.
Don't get your hopes up too high, some of the PS3 exclusives in the recent past have not lived up to the hype, although some of the unhyped games have turned out much better than anticipated.....
I don't normally bust balls, but seriously what the hell does hype have to do with this? If they're telling you this is what we're planning and this is what we're gonna bring, why turn it into a PS3 bashing? What do other games not living up to hype have to do with THIS game? I heard the sales for Pitfall back on the Atari 2600 were lower than expected...i'm thinking the same will happen with GT5. That makes about as much sense as comparing this game to others just because it's a PS3 exclusive. Anyways, great things are worth waiting for. I'd rather they polish it to death and bring a game that's mind blowing than half ass it just to get it on the shelves like 99% of the games out there for ANY platform. It shows the developers aren't screwing around and they're really trying to bring it for the fans and not serve up a watered down filler game.
Normally, I'd agree, but with this game, looking back at past history, I have to think it's gonna be worth the wait.
Yeah this is like when Ferrari finally decides to bring back the next generation Testarossa. If they say it's gonna be a few years in development, people won't give a damn because they know it's gonna be worth the wait.
I played prologue and had a very big let down since I couldn't modify the cars. I've heard you won't be able to modify the cars in the full release version so I can't say I am interested in buying the game. They took one of the best parts of the Gran Turismo series and ditched it. Bad move IMO.
I highly doubt they'll take out the modification aspect in the full version of the game. Prologue was just a teaser really, i wouldn't even call it a full game...more like a very thick demo. I just hope the wait means full on car damage is finally gonna happen, and i hope this time around you can actually stroke and bore EVERY engine since the old games it seemed like only the Spoon Civics had the option. It would also be cool if you could turbo and supercharge everything instead of being turbo only for imports and blowers only for V8s.
pfft I will believe release date rumors when I can physically go down to Best Buy and hold it in my hands. Whats this, the 4th time they've pushed this one back so far? GT5 is the new Duke Nukem Forever...
Damn, guess I hit a nerve with a PS fanboy. This. ....that cost $45. sweet. Look at KZ2, this game was supposed to be the bees knees and blow even Crysis out of the water, was in dev. for over 5 years. Turns out its just another shooter, just like the original.
Forza 2 has pretty much all the things you are hoping that GT5 will have, and it came out a long time ago... MS>Sony
600 cars ... and I'll bet there's not a single Fox-bodied notchback Mustang among them. Probably lucky if they even include a '93 SVT Cobra.
Not a fanboy, don't even own a PS3. I just happen to follow along quietly and all i see is people taking shots at both the big consoles at every chance they get, and what you said doesn't make sense.
Don't forget 75 different versions of the Evo and WRX, each. I do agree with this part....need more domestic cars.
WE NEED FOXES IN MORE GAMES, DAMMIT!! I swear, it's like the only Mustangs game developers seem to be aware of that aren't currently sitting on Ford dealer lots right now are the '68 fastback and the '99 Cobra R. Given, Foxes aren't the all-time cream of the crop in terms of Mustang performance ... but then, WTF, frickin' base-model Honda Civics and stock Toyota Celica GT-S's aren't those companies' cream-of-the-crop models, either! I think it has a lot to do with the game developers in Japan being completely ignorant of American sports cars, in general, and instead leaning more towards the sorts of cars they have had or still have on the roads over there. Either that, or all the American game developers are dudes that are either constantly wanking off to episodes of Top Gear (where they pretty much rag on anything that costs less than $150k as being boring or outright garbage) or watching all four "Fast & Furious" movies back-to-back every other day.
Well so GT5 might come, as might come the other PS3 exclusives before they released the PS3. Not holding my breath.
You will be able to mod the cars. Very extensively actually. And I remeber reading somewhere that it takes 2-3 months just to do the detail for the INTERIOR of some of the cars.
