head removal?

I'm working on a 97 gt conv. sohc. I've had a problem with coolant loss since i got the car a month ago. I thought it might be due to a bad hose underneath the intake manifold. I removed the manifold and found leaves and fresh coolant in the valley, while looking around for where the coolant is coming from I found the drivers side spark plug holes are full of antifreeze. The hose under the manifold is fine, but I will replace it while it's available. There is not any water in the oil at all. Just want some more input but i believe the head must come off and head gasket replaced. I suppose it would also be prudent to check for a cracked head but there is no water in the oil. Did you check Your intake for cracks? Also check the condition of your intake gasket. If you have coolant in the valley and in a spark plug well I dont think it would be a headgasket. Good luck.

Sounds like a cracked intake or warped. Had both happen to me on my 98. Same things were happening on my car. I would look into the intake getting replaced.

check your heater rod that runs in the middle of the valley. That has been known to leak. try adding some air to the system if you can and see where the coolant is coming from.
