Header clearance question

If the difference in the 87-93 long tube headers and the 94-95 headers is the location of the fork on the tranmisson, one is at 9 o'clock and one at 7 Then where does the fork come out from the tko-500 tranny. In other words does the tko-500 tranny allow you to use the 87-93 headers on a 94 or 95 car. Thanks
