headlight help

my headlights only come one with the key in the on position. parking lamps and hazards come on with key off but no head lights. I am thinking perhaps the switch? MY dimmer is also on the fritz, could this be the culprit?

I think I can help with this one, Just fixed it 2 weeks ago. It's not the dimmer switch, in my case it was the wires behind the turn on off light switch came loose, I guess after 20 yrs that may happen ! This caused my high beam wire to fry as you can see. Take off the switch and push all 6 wires in so connection is solid with switch unit and that should cure your lights woes. I also thought it was my dimmer, dash lights would go off, headlight would come on and off just like yours. Hope this helps my friend

did it always perform that way ? has the headlight wiring been modified ? does flash-to-pass function properly with the key off ?
