HELP! ...is a "Deed of title" the same as a "Manufacturer's certificate of origin" ?

Buying a new 05 mustang from a proper main ford dealer....
Importing it back here to the UK...
My shipper has told me to make sure the car has a deed of title before US customs will let it leave the country.
The dealer is claiming the MCO is the same thing?
who is telling the whole truth here?

Well if you throw both titles in into google you get some good responses.

A MCO appears to be the original certification from the Manufacturer (Ford) saying that they transfer their property to the buyer and it is in fact theirs.

A Deep of Title appears to be be proof to the state that all taxes and property fees have been payed and the property is owned by the lending institution or buyer.

I think that what you are looking for is the "permission" from the 'Owner' of the vehicle saying you can ship the vehicle out of country. So if the bank owns the vehicle (ie you have a loan) then go through them and explain your situation and they should provide you the required documentation. If the vehicle is new and you are buying it from your dealer overseas from a dealer in the states then I would think an MCO would be the proper paperwork.

I am not a lawyer or anything just did a quick internet search but I would feel a good place to get info would be from the actual shipping company. They would have the best info.

Well if it helps any when we ship trailers (which have a VIN) overseas, customs (which is handled by a broker) only requires our MSO/MCO.
