I've been looking for a video for a mustang, but can't find one. There are a ton out there for random cars. They are all similar, just remember ford uses the tool to release the lines.

Pre-96 cars do not generate a CEL for no cats. That only applies to the OBD2 96+ cars.
Run your codes. It's possible it's something else and unrelated.

Read the tech note I posted, especially the part about flushing the system when a compressor fails...
Everything you need to know is in there.
A/C systems that have had a compressor failure must be flushed. Failure to do so will result in the floating trash left behind from the compressor failure destroying the replacement compressor.
