Help Pls. Wheel Lock

Hey Guys,
I have quite the problem but maybe you guys will make it easy for me.
I lost my wheel lock (I have bullit rims) when I changed my flat tired a few days ago so now i can't change it back. I have that stupid donat on. Either way I'd need it to change my tires eventually. Anyone know where I can get one? Or if anyone lives in the Coral Springs, Fl area that would like to lend it to me real quick while I change my tire (I will go to your house or work or wherever I just want to change my tire) I would really really appreciate it.

Well not all of the wheel locks are the same pattern so borrowing one might be difficult. Now on the other hand, how do think people steal wheels with locks on them? You can use a socket and impact it off. I dont recommend it, but thats what thiefs do.

they sell sockets to bust out wheel locks might want to get one of those or just hammer in a 12pt. socket that will fit it snug and that you have to hammer in to remove it

Get a socket that is slightly smaller than the lug, beat it on with a hammer, impact it off.


It really sucks that rims are that easy to steal now that I think about it.

1. Buy a 1/2-drive 12-point deep socket that just barely fits over the lock. They cost under $2. Hammer it onto the lock. The lock is really soft so the 12 points on the socket will cut into the lock.

2. Use a ratchet to turn it.

3. Throw the lock away.

4. Get a new set.


Yes, it is scary how easy it is to defeat those stupid wheel locks.

The only person wheel locks ever stopped was me

I had them removed after losing two lug keys and I will never have them on my cars again.

Get a regular lug nut, have it welded on to the lock nut, and then turn it right off. I've done this before and it works good.

One more thing, Sears sells a set of impact sockets specifically designed for removing wheel locks. They have a sort of internal spiral taper inside that grabs on. The kit includes three sizes. I believe it is $40.

12pt socket is the easiest. just hammer it on really good. then use a ratchet like previously stated. thats how we get them off at work!
