I have a 90 LX 5.0, engine was rebuilt 20k' ish miles ago with new timing chain. I bought the car from a friend who had the work done and was driving the car daily. Timing was set 18 degrees advanced with the spout out and it ran great. The car lost power while driving and when timing was checked it was 20 degrees retarded, the distributer was tight and had not moved. They pulled the spout out again and reset timing and it ran great, on th way home it lost power again and died. He got tired of messing with it and I bought it. I have not checked the timing again but I'm guessing by the way it sounds it has moved back again. Does this sound like a timing chain issue or what could be causing this? They had replaced the distributer after it moved the first time (its a cheap advanced auto dizzy) Just looking for where to start and what tips anyone can provide Thanks
