I recently bought a 98 saleen with a vortech v1 (thats what the tag on the vortech says and I know nothing about superchargers) and it pings in the upper rpms, I run 90 octane gas as this is the best we can get in our town, i've been told a box from msd (can't remember the exact numbers) or alcohol/methanol/water injection system would be a good fix, any experience with these fixes for other ideas would be greatly aprreciated.
if by pinging you mean detonation then do not rev it up and let it make high boost until you can get the car either tuned and or get a msd box to retard the timing or you will blow a head gasket or worse if you haven't already done damage. methanol injection will only suppress detonation, but if your car does it everytime you dont want to be running the meth on all the time so you should get that timing checked asap
