Hey do you guys know if the 97gt and 2002gt clutches are the same?

can i take a good 2002gt clutch out of the car and put it right into a 1997 gt?

No. The earlier cars used a 10.5" clutch. 2002 and later used 11.0".

If you swapped the flywheel as well, it should work. The number of bolts holes will need to be same (IE 6 bolt Romeo).

+1. A six-bolt Romeo flywheel from 2002+ will bolt right up to your crank and will allow the use of the larger 11" clutch.

just wanted to know cause im thinking about getting a 97gt for a dd. im sure after i buy it the clutch will go cause thats my luck. so i figureg since i hav a spec clutch and aluminum fly in my 2002 that i could maybe throw my old stock 2002 stuff in the 97.
