So...one has the "FRONT" facing up, and the other has "FRONT" facing down? That's a good thing to clarify, thanks. But the question still is, which one gets flipped?

When I put all my stuff together a couple of years ago I called ARP and they asked me if I was using Aluminum heads & intake. After I said yes they gave me the following info.

Using their lube and sealant torque in 3 steps the lowers@65lbs and the uppers@70lbs.

They can only go on one way if the "front" is facing forward.
Thank you very much!

If you are getting that info out of a Ford manual then don't do that.

The bolts in a Ford manual are torque to yield.

You torque ARP bolts to spec.
Thank you very much!

what are the torque specs on ARP bolts?
Depends on lube used. Check out ARP's site. It has all kinds of good info on there regarding torque specs.

you think so?
approxamatly what are they suppose to be?? i had a torque wrench out there when i did them and after i did 55 ft lbs, in order to get 90 degrees past, i had to set the torque wrench to like 100 ft lbs or it would click...
