How did FRPP change the backspacing of the Cobra rim?

I'm just curious on how Ford Racing changed the offset of the Cobra rim. I believe one was called like the M58 and M178 or something along those lines. But thats beside the point. FRPP made a 17x9 that had 24mm offset and they made the identical rim with 36mm offset. I believe it was made to use with the FRPP m2300-k brake kit. They have since dropped the rims but i just wanted to know how they changed the offset of it by almost a half an inch. Did they:

1. Shave the hub/mounting pad thinner to increase offset?
2. Did the angle the spokes at a differently
3. Did the add more wheel lip depth
or any other ways....

THanks!

the wheel is a totaly different cast. they didnt shave down the hub. they moved it inward and in to some degree, lengthened and changed the angle of the spokes to get the lower offset. the width of the wheel stayed the same.

Don't buy the 36mm offset Cobra R's. They are ugly as can be. They totally changed the cast of the wheel. Buy the +24mm offset Cobra R's...like these...this is my car.
