I've been foolin with this thing for like 15 mins, and I can't pop the damn plastic cover off to take out the OEM shifter. Is there a button or something I'm missin????
There are 3 prongs holding it down one on the upper left, one on the upper right and one on the bottom right in the center. It's going to feel like your going to snap it while pulling, just pull it back nice and steady, dont jerk it. (wow that sounds gay...lol)
Anyway, be careful, I snapped the lower prong on mine, it's different from the upper two.
Put both of your thumbs on either side of the bottom of the shift boot, and with your other fingers, pry up the plastic piece with plenty of pressure. You're going to think that you broke it when it comes off, but you won't. Don't be afraid to use force on it.
Got it, but I'll be damned if I didn't break the lil one in the front.. Oh well. now I just have to wait for the silicon to dry, and I'm goin for a ride..

So, what do you think of that set up you just installed??
I had a ripper shifter....didn't like it much. Sat to far forward. Now I have a new tranny and went with the tri-ax....so far I like it much better. I need to put some miles on it though as the tranny/shifter went in right before winter storage.
