How do you guys shift...

went to the track yesterday...and as well....really bad traction problems.....im running khumoecsta supra 275 on the back and still no grip...i think the tires suck...i was hoping to beat my dad on his lightning....but i was off by .5 of a second...im pretty sure with tires its possible...what IS a good tire???

Let me say a few things...

A car that spins does not mean that it is faster than others...or powerful for that matter.

Tires (brand, compound, wear), pavement type, temperature are pretty big factors.
 
I had alot of luck on Nitto 555r's, the 245 wide ones too. Cut a few 1.7 60's and traction held up pretty good too. Launched around 2800, granny shifted 2nd, and powershifted the rest.

I found it best to shift an NA PI GT around 5500 or so for best times. Actually, you can fine tune that to 5800 to 2nd, 5600 to 3rd, and 5500 to 4th (assuming you've got gears, otherwise hold 3rd). Was cutting consistant mid 1.8's before the blower.
