I put down about $220 in just groceries plus the extra eating out from time to time, so around 300 a month. I could eat like 500 a month, but then Id be broke.

I spent about 100 a week just for me. Healthy food isn't cheap thats for sure. Parents buy ****...so I buy my own food. Me and my brother are the only healthy ones in my family.

Usually a 12 pack of beef ramen and a couple boxes of easy mac to supplement the grub they give us here. Not much really....

Man, some of you guys are up there in prices for groceries.

For myself, I spend about $50/week on groceries. I might eat out a few times out of the month so i'd say about $300/month. I eat clean everyday except for the times I eat out. I don't see healthier food being any more expensive unless your talking about lean meats. I find alternatives though. Like instead of eating chicken everyday i'll split it up with tuna (cheapier and the same if not more protein). But crap like salmon and lean beef can get expensive. Guess it's what your looking for.

its all about the eye round lean steaks, get like 3 of them for like 4$ lol

i noticed at the store the food thats worse for you cost the most with exception to meat. frozen dinners, ice cream, chips, dip, bakery, all that crap adds up quick and will put on the pounds at the same time.

thats what I love about being a server, free fooood!

When I got my first real job and my own apartment after college, I spent about $600 to $700 a month on food (almost no groceries). I traveled a lot and was on my own, so eating out was the norm.

    Then...................

I got married and my wife freaked when she saw the checkbook! Needless to say, I no longer take care of the finances. :) Since the month I got married, the food costs went down to $300 a month for both of us and we buy lots of groceries and rarely eat out.

I hated giving up my finances, but my wife's an accountant and she straightened everything out. Now, several years later, I have no debt and an account for stang upgrades.

$700 a month was for real for several months. Can't imagine that now. What a waste!

I am a huge bargain shopper.. Basically I only buy it if it's on sale, but I hate chicken so I eat ALOT of beef ($50 per week avg)... I avoid almost all processed foods and really only eat steak, veggies, eggs, and my incredible fruit smoothies that I make..I make all of my own bread and usually eat a 2.5 lb loaf every other day....

By the way, DID THIS THREAD DISAPPEAR FOR A FEW DAYS?? I SEARCHED AND SEARCHED BUT COULDN'T FIND IT???

mine averages out to about $1800 per month. we have 6 people living in the house, and i split it with my wife's parents (they live with us now because they are too old to live by themselves anymore)

that includes all the crap from the grocery store, laundry detergent, shampoo, ...

but that doesn't include lunches. i average about $25 per week on that, so add another $100

Just the wife and I probably spend around $500 per month...more if we go out and drink...but our friends always seem to know when we get groceries cause they are here eating our food.

In the last two days we went grocery shopping...$110 at costco, $90 at WM, and $60 and Albertsons...

The good part is that we loaded up at costco so we chould be good for a couple of weeks.

We have a set of married friends that live in a studio in their parents back yard...they stil eat all their meals with them too...so they get pissed when we dont want to feed them everytime they come over...well shi7, food is EXPENSIVE!
