I have a ford racing cold air kit (power pack). Does ford have their own filter oil to reoil the filter. if not then what kind of oil do i use. I dont want to use k&n oil because their filters are red and the ford filter is blue.

I'm sure Ford has their own cleaner and oil, but if you have the K&N cleaning kit I would use it. I have a CAI from aFe and it has a green colored filter, but all these things work on the same principle. The oil film on the fibers of the filter traps the dust particles. So, like any filter, you either have to clean it or get a new one. The K&N kit has a cleaner that sprays on. You rinse it off with water and then after the filter dries you spray on the new oil. I'm going to use the K&N stuff myself. In fact, I'll probably do it this weekend.

Wash it out with soapy water, rinse and let it dry completely. DO NOT oil it in any way. Oil will get on the mass air flow sensor which is very close to the filter.
