    Hey guys,

I have a 1969 Mustang Coupe. Ive had it for over ten years, but am only now getting serious about fixing it up. I'd really like to find out if the motor is original or not. The guy who I bought it from said it was, but I'd like to know for sure. I've been told there is a number somewhere on the motor that is also located somewhere on the car. If these two numbers match, then it means one has the original motor. Is this true? If so, where can I find these numbers? If this isn't true, how may I go about doing this?

    Thanks a bunch.

    Casey

yes it is true. several places on the car have the VIN number and the motor should have it stamped as well. If memory serves me right, there is a place on the back side of the motor. It will be a flat spot on the right side (I think) close to where the bellhousing bolts to. I'm pretty sure that is where it is on the 351w that came with my 69 mustang. So, if you see 1012345 on your motor, and see 1012345 on your VIN, you have a match. hope this helps.
