Funny you say that dual plug head is the worst flowing. That has been the assumption for years though.
I recently saw on turboford a flow test with the various bone stock 2.3 heads by a respected head porter. Turns out the dual plug was at the top of the heap of all the factory 2.3 heads. However, it is still beleived that a fully ported D port will out flow a fully ported dual plug head.

Actually brian, the DP shown is the Late version...not the one that came on the Mustangs. It says in that thread that the early DP has been flowed before and was by far the worst flowing...

The intake ports where completely changed in the late DP motors (higher floor, smaller cross section, no tumble chamber, etc.).

Theoretically, then, you would be able to put the late DP onto a Mustang and probably get some mild gains from it.

Anything's possible and it certainly wouldn't hurt.

I wonder if the late DP head still has those funky intake ports? The way the roof transitions to the valve seat is literally a bottleneck or more like a mason jar shape. (EDIT:) Just reread Stinger's post. Question answered. :)

    STUPID QUESTION AHEAD!!...

What where the last 2.3 and 2.5's rated for output? Where they still 105?

Jeez, how many Brian's have we got around here?

I believe the last lima-based engine in the Rangers (can't remember if it was a 2.3 or a 2.5 was rated around 130-140 hp?

At school it's Erics. There are three in just one of my classes, and the class only has like 15 people.
