How to: Polish Exhaust

kind of a stupid question. but do you recommend doing this with stainless steel exhaust tips? mine are a bit clouded. i know itd be a bad idea to do this to chrome, but i am pretty sure theyre SS.
As long as they are Stainless Steel you should be fine. :nice:

If they are already sort of smooth, you won't need to start off with such a low grit sand paper. Maybe start out with like 600 or so.

thanks for the reply :nice:

i am pretty sure the first time i tried to polish my tips i ended up using chrome polish and it made them hazy...also took off a lot of the 'lazer inscribing' off of the exhaust tips :rlaugh:. theyre the 3.5" SLP tips which are claimed to be '100% SS"

which brings up another question. why do you use aluminum polish on SS? there are specific polishes for SS.

hehehe... awaken, old thread...

hopefully the op is still around. about how much would you say you would spend on these supplies? and how Many jobs can you do with the stuff you listed?

thanks
