How to test Coolant sensor ?

Since my mustang is out (friday night) the Low Coolan light is always on .. I've add suffisant prestone/water in it and from my eeyes it looks all good ..

where is the sensor located and how can I test it to see if it is defect ?

The sensor is in the overflow. It's part of the cap. Make sure the overflow is filled to the full hot level with the engine hot and the light should go out.

If not, replace the sensor

also might want to take a look at the sensor - they can get crud on them. a cleaning sometimes makes them work again.

That's what was wrong with mine, just took a little sand paper to it and worked again.
