I have a 5.0 that I reciently rebuilt, When I put the engine togeather I believe that I had the timing off by a little bit. I was wondering how much HP you can really lose by having your timing off by a little or by a lot. Any help would be great.

depending on how much timing is off.... HP can get rapped in the process, both by too much or too little.

set your timing to 10* with spout out and DONT PUT IT BACK IT, take it for a drive....

THEN put the spout back in so timing will be advanced the way the ecu wants it and you will know what im talking about. if i had to guess i would say it robbed about 20 or 30 hp.

more timing is not always better tho
