My head unit has a flip-out screen but it won't play dvd's while I'm driving. You have to engage the e-brake all the way in order for it to work. I understand that this is a safety precaution but there has to be a way to bypass this. My buddy told me to just ground the ebrake wire out of the back of the head unit. At first it works but than the next time I go to turn my car on it stops working. Any ideas?? Oh and just so you know it''s one of those best buy brand stereos (dual). I know I know but I couldn't pass up a new flip screen with full waranty for $400.
i have a clarion touch screen in my car and what i did was connect the green wire on the back of the radio harness to the same ground for the stereo. green is the universal color but it could be different on yours. mine works all the time. GL
Your ground needs to be switched.Put a toggle so you can give/take the ground. Most in dash's need a sequence or toggled ground
Dual screens require that you set the brake for a couple seconds, release it for a couple seconds, then set it again. Like another guy said, you need to ground the wire then put a toggle switch in-line to interrupt the ground path to the deck.
kind of unrelated. I have a iva-w205 alpine screen. but I'm having a hardtime finding a dash kit(mounting brackets) for it. what did you get to make your double din set ups work (if they are DD) thanks.
This is the dash kit that works for the double din in the 03 type Mustang dash. Metra 95-5026. http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=95-5026
